Cybercrime is rapidly on the increase – and is one of the fastest growing areas of criminal activity. Government statistics found nearly half of all UK businesses suffered a cyber breach or attack in the past 12 months costing in excess of £20bn. Small businesses can also be hit particularly hard by attacks, with nearly one in five taking a day or more to recover from their most disruptive breach. How safe is your business? What can you do to protect your business from a breach?

These Masterclasses, led by the Basildon Business Group, will help you:

  • Understand and identify the risks and the cost to business
  • Identify the measures required to protect against cybercrime
  • Understand about gathering effective business intelligence
  • Gain greater knowledge of data protection and the implications of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Take away immediate implementable actions that will directly impact on your business

There is no need to pre-book these Masterclasses – you can just turn up on the day.  For further information, please contact: Kevin Wright, Senior Economic Development and Regeneration Officer, Regeneration Services, Basildon Council Tel: 01268 206688, Mobile: 07432 630804 Email: kevin.wright@basildon.gov.uk
